The short version

  • Your audio never leaves your browser. PitchShed changes it live, in the tab, and does not record, save or upload it.
  • Nothing you watch or listen to is sent to us.
  • The only thing the extension ever sends is a license check with our own license server, and only if you have a Pro license.
  • This website has no analytics and sets no cookies of its own.

What PitchShed stores on your device

To remember a song, the extension stores — in the browser's local extension storage, on your device only — the song's key and speed, its loop points, the page address it belongs to (for a YouTube video just the video's ID, for other pages the address without anything after a question mark or a hash), the page title (up to 120 characters), and when you last used it. The Settings page shows only how many songs are stored. It also stores the day you installed it, which is how the 7-day trial is counted, your license details, and a small counter that decides when to ask for a review. None of this is sent anywhere. “Forget all songs” in the extension's Settings wipes the song list, and uninstalling the extension removes everything.

What is sent, and when

When you activate a license key, and after that at most once every 7 days when you open the extension, PitchShed sends the key and a random device ID to our license server to check that the subscription is still active. The server answers yes or no. Like any web request, it also reaches the server together with your IP address, which the server needs in order to reply. Nothing about the pages you visit or the media you play is included.

When you buy Pro

Checkout is run by Paddle, who are the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle collects your payment details and handles tax; we never see your card number. From Paddle we receive your email address, your country, and the order and subscription details and status. Paddle's privacy notice explains what they do with your data.

What our license server keeps

The license key, the email address you paid with (so we can send the key and recover it for you), the order and subscription identifiers and status, and a record of which devices have activated the key — random IDs, with no names — and when. We use it to run licenses and to answer support questions, and for nothing else. We do not sell it or share it for advertising.

Who else is involved

Paddle handles payments. Cloudflare hosts this website and our license server. When checkout opens, Paddle's own script loads from Paddle's servers and sets its own cookies; it does not load anywhere else on this site.

How long we keep it

License records are kept while a subscription is active and afterwards for as long as we need them for refunds, accounting and legal obligations, and then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights such as access, correction, deletion and objection. Write to jetunitbusiness@gmail.com from the address you paid with and we will act on any request that applies to you. Because the extension keeps its data only on your device, you can also delete all of it yourself by uninstalling the extension.

If we change this page, the date at the top changes with it.
